Yesterday I decided to go out to AFE. AFE is the school by the city dump that my team had worked with in STEP. It was so neat to see some of the kids, and talk to Dania, the cook there. Then after an eventful busride to a different ¨mercado¨ then the one I know- I found my way to the Micah House, which is another ministry that we had worked with. It was fun to suprise them by stopping by, as they thought that I was in the States. Even though there are times when I´m bored, I´m glad that I have this time in the city to reconnect with different people.
This weekend will find me in a cold area somewhere in this country at a youth spiritual retreat (I don´t know what you´d call in in English, in Spanish its Campamento, Soldados por Cristo). Pray for it, and me!

Una Boda. A Wedding
Saturday was a beautiful day for a wedding. And there was a wedding here in Honduras, in a beautiful center up above the city. To say that I went to the wedding and witnessed the marriage of my dear friends Rachel and Ronal Ulloa would not fully explain what has happened in the past few days. For the first time in my life I was able to help prepare for a wedding, and what an experience that was! I´ve heard that weddings are quite alot of work to prepare for, and now I know how true that is. Throw that in with the fact that the bride´s 15 guests were from the States creates a whole new factor. I was able to spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday helping to prepare for the wedding, and running here there and everywhere with Americans as guide and translator, or just by myself, getting things for the wedding. It was quite the experience, and I´m glad I could help out and hopefully not be in the way too much.
Now what am I going to do you may ask? I don´t have much of a set schedule, or anything for that matter, for the next week, and so I anticipate visiting some of the ministries we worked with in STEP, as well as reconnecting with friends here. Next weekend I anticipate going on a retreat with the youth from the church here. And when the Horsts arrive, I head to La Finca!
Thanks for the prayers.

Ready to Fly
I don't mean to be cliche but as I was thinking about leaving, the lyrics to the song, Ready to Fly, by FFH came to mind. I shall just borrow a few of the words from the chorus to help describe (in a poetic manner) how I feel about leaving for the airport in a few hours.
I'm ready to fly,
I'm ready to spread my wings across the sky
I think it's time
I'm ready to go
I'm ready to fly.
God has been teaching me things as I have been preparing to go, and I'm sure he will be teaching me so much more in the time to come. I need to remember to keep my eyes on the prize, and run this race with endurance, through the joys and struggles.
I'm excited about getting back into the Latino culture, but am not blinded to the fact that with the enjoyment of the culture also comes those frustrations that have dimmed in my memory as time has past and I'm back in my own home culture.
Hasta luego! (see-ya!)

Getting ready to fly...
Just About 2 Weeks till its time to fly....via a jet..not my own nonexistent wings. Time is also flying (if I may use the well weathered idiom) and today I was realizing how little time I have before I go. The excitement is building as the time is passing. I anticipate reconnecting with my friends and Honduran family in the city for about 10 days before I head out to Valle and get settled in at the home. Please pray for me as I say "see-yas" here and "holas" in Honduras. A sad and happy time!
